'It is hard to get by just upon a smile' may be good advice to a newly born. Kim Phuc, featureless in this representation, questions why - and Vitruvian man asks how. Tutankhamen, ruling more than two millenia ago, was regarded as the living image of the god Amun, who represented both the 'essential and the hidden' - how appropriate is this as a reference for Newmarch's works? He apparently was self created which may be a further reference to the history of Newmarch becoming an artist in the face of parental dis-encouragement. In further parallels, Amun was a champion of the poor.
