John utilises a wide range of styles in his artworks, from impressionistic landscapes to contemporary visions of the world around him. His preferred medium is oil paint, after a long and rewarding career utilising both watercolour and acrylic. This move has been exceptionally well received both critically and commercially, earning John several highly coveted awards for his works.
His work appeals to both the Australian and International markets, and features in many private collections all over the world. He has regularly exhibited his works across Australia, culminating in a highly respected reputation as an artist after a lucrative career spanning more than twenty years.
In order to capture the landscapes which he translates so elegantly onto canvas, John enjoys using ‘en plein air’ studies (painting while outdoors) to assist him in creating larger pieces in his studio, where there is less danger of harm coming to his work.
As a self-taught artist, John recognises the value of the knowledge that fellow artists can pass on to those seeking a career in art, or simply wishing to hone their craft, and so makes himself available for workshops and demonstrations both in Australia and overseas.
