Matthew Welsby is a prize winning artist who is known for his technical detail. He demonstrated strong artistic abilities from an early age, with some of his first works Exhibited at the age of 12. He completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of South Australia in 1997. Specialising in acrylic, his works are mostly of a photo-realistic style, capturing his Subjects in vivid realism and colours.
Subjects have been taken from a diverse spectrum Ranging from marine life to automobiles, aviation to sporting celebrity portraits. This has included over 30 Sir Donald Bradman portraits commercially, of which prints have been sold nationwide. He has exhibited in The Waterhouse Natural History Exhibition, RAAF Heritage Award, Port Adelaide Art show, Marion Cultural Centre, to name a few, and his work can also be found in Private homes, various bars, and cafes.
