A continuing theme in my work has been permeability. I am drawn to the arcane, those things which cannot be fixed permanently within our systems of knowing. This has led to my use of the screen in my work, in that it operates as a kind of ground through which a partial view of the world is seen. Clouds, in their constant transformation and motion, can work in a similar way, allowing only a fragmented view of the sky. In this work I bring together these two forms: the sky fragmented by green grass, the mirror the open space of the screen, and the grass forming the screen itself.
