Michael Dyson is a
young, cutting edge surrealist artist based in Adelaide. His paintings
are inspired by many cultural influences.- 1960's psychadelic art, Aboriginal
Australian art, 1990's computer games, 20th century cartoons and a whole
host of artists.
His art reflects the
human brain's ability to derive faces from geometrical relationships.
Faces are therefor a common feature in his work. His main medium is acrylic
paint but he also uses oils and acrylics.
Dyson's work is emotive
and imaginative. He uses bright coulours and thin sharp outlines to emphasise
the forms and characters in his paintings. The quality of his work, his
imagination and his use of colour are indeed impressive.
