Tim's comment:
Crushing the grapes after harvest was a key part of traditional winemaking. Instead of using a mechanised solution or a wine press those lucky participants got to crush the grapes barefoot. They repeatedly stomped on them in the vats. They thereby released the grapes’ juices and launched the process of fermentation. How much fun would that have been? The sculptor captures this moment of shared joy and creativity in this sculpture titled 'Crush'.
Because art is what you the viewer perceive another interpretation of this sculpture is: “Brainstorming the artistic way.”
