When art gets ugly

Whenever you hang a piece of art, there are several considerations that are pretty universal. For those of us who suffer from indecisiveness, some of these decisions are harder than others. What if you want to hang that piece somewhere else in a few months? If you cycle around your art, then a fixed height and placement won’t work for every piece that you will ever hang in that area. But the only alternative is to re-drill a hole each time, removing the obsolete hook and filling the hole, repainting the area, and so on and so forth. It’s far too much of a hassle, and, frankly, a bit of an eyesore when you change your mind.

Which is why we at Art Logic decided that it would be much more practical to use technology from Arti Teq, giving us as much freedom with hanging art as possible. We install a non-intrusive, practically invisible (depending on the colour of the wall and/or fixture) rod just beneath the ceiling and use hooks with wires to hang the piece of art from. It may sound a bit odd, but we (and others!) testify to how great it looks – in fact, we like it so much that all of the art in our office and gallery is hung with this system!

The hanging rods even come in different colours, in case plain white doesn’t catch your fancy, and the hooks are completely invisible. This system works with framed or unframed pieces and artworks can be easily moved up, down or sideways. It can take pretty heavy loads, too, without even breaking a sweat!
