ART LOGIC Gallery, April 2009

We exhibited 38 works created by 15 artists, all relating to portraiture. Five artists came along with their easels and paints to create on-the-spot portraits.

Guests at the Gallery

About 150 guests enjoyed the fine weather, stunning portraits and an occasional glass of sparkling.

Roland Weight

Roland Weight displayed his genius working with oil paints in the garden gallery.

Jenny's Portrait

Jenny loved the portrait Roland Weight painted of her.

Portraitist Karen Hammat ART LOGIC

Artist Karen Hammat was quick to set up her easel in the garden too.

Aaron emailed us:
You probably do not realise how much fun the evening was for us. We had not expected it to turn out as it did until we dived into the crowd and started consuming all that was on display.
We are no strangers to places where art can be seen and regularly attend openings of exhibits. However this time the experience was different - it was so much more alive! We had this incredible fun of circling round the items on display, commenting, comparing, stopping behind the back of the artist at work to check on the latest progress
(a minute or two ago), going back to the same pieces again and again and each time discovering something new - almost like kids in a toy shop.
And , it did not stop when we left. it lasted until late night at home - we kept it going as if we were still there; remembering all we have seen and chatting about it as if we were there. We felt relaxed, happy and well entertained.
My wife described the experience as stepping into another world for a while, a world of living art and of people who live it and love it for what it really is.

Greg O'Leary and Model

There was plenty of light and a beautiful model for Greg O'Leary in the indoor gallery.Greg showed how skilled he was with charcoals.

Lou Gannon in the swing of things

Lou Gannon got right into the swing of things and created a pastel portrait. All onlookers were impressed with the final result.

Portraitist Karen Hammat's Portraits ART LOGIC

Portraitist Karen Hammat found many subjects to paint during the exhibit. Onlookers were intrigued by her technique - she painted with a stick dipped in ink.

Samina and Selene

Samina and Selene wanted portraitist Stefan to sketch them in pencil - so they took some time off their waitressing duties.

End of the day

At midnight, when all were gone our waitresses still had stories to tell each other in our garden gallery.
